As an avid media rewatcher, I am so excited for this prompt.
I have been getting better at watching new movies lately, but when it comes to series, I can’t say the last time I’ve started something new. Committing to something entirely new is such a hard thing for me, especially when I already know my comfort series will make me happy.
As For TV Shows…
- The Office
- I watched this show for the first time back in 2021 with my sister. It’s because of that, and the nature of the show, that it is such a staple for me. I love the overarching plots along with all the side plots going on. The characters are (mostly) all loveable, and the shows’ ability to be lighthearted and heavy is very touching.
- Liv and Maddie
- In all honesty, this is a show I never would have watched if my friend hadn’t made me in 2016. This show is, again, so lighthearted and fun. It reminds me of the color pink in a way. I love the relationship between everyone in the show, and I enjoy the nostalgic vibe of the entire shoe. The outfits to the jokes to the events in the show all makes me feel like I’m a child again.
- Bob’s Burgers
- Another show introduced to me by my sister, I may be a bit biased again. I go in phases with this show. I find it interesting how the series seems to be targeted at kids, with its little life lessons at the end of every episode, however the language and events in the show seem to be geared more towards teenagers. Anyway, I adore the Belcher kids, and this series is such a relaxing, feel-good one.
As For Movies…
- To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before (1, 2, and 3)
- I first watched these movies in 2020, and there is no other movie I would call my comfort movie. Whenever I am going through a hard time, I always take a night for self-care and watch all three of these movies. Lara Jean is such a beautiful main character, and although the plot may be unrealistic, it is again such a happy and feel-good movie!
- It’s also worth noting that the series of this show is amazing too, and I am very excited to see the new season coming out.
- Call Me By Your Name
- Immediately, this movie is not a feel-good movie. However, the soundtrack, the scenery, the setting, and the language in this movie are so incredibly beautiful. I have never been one to cry over a movie, but this one has got me every time. Even in my sleep, I have cried to this movie.
Writing this was a reminder to me to buy Disney+ just to rewatch Liv and Maddie again.
Love you all.
